Supportive Housing

Community Enterprises Corporation (CEC) manages CSPNJ’s shared housing across the state of New Jersey. Through the HUD Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities program, CEC subsidizes rental housing with the availability of supportive services for very low- and extremely low-income adults with disabilities.

CEC also operates New Jersey’s three non-profit HUD Public Housing Agencies (NJ 880, 881 and 882) and is experienced in developing and managing affordable housing opportunities funded by federal and state rental assistance programs.

What is Supportive Housing?

There are many types and models for developing and operating supportive housing, including a range of partnerships between housing development, property management and social service providers. The key elements of supportive housing endorsed by Community Enterprise Corporation are that it is lease-based housing with supportive services provided to tenants with special needs in the convenience of their own home. Our tenants are provided with supportive services from the CSPNJ team or another service provider.

CEC Housing is

  • Affordable for people who are low-income.

  • Independent with every tenant having a lease with the responsibility for paying rent.

  • Permanent as long as the tenant pays rent and fulfills lease terms.
